BSPP To BSPT Fittings
BSPP To BSPT Fittings are the adapters with two thread ends, one end type is British pipe parallel, and another end type is British pipe Tapered. For the end user’s requirements, it will be male threaded or female threaded.
BSPP Parallel Thread Fittings and Adapters
British Standard Pipe (BSPP) parallel thread fittings and adapters are most popular in the UK, Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa markets. Their popularity is not only due to the original thread structure, but also their excellent sealing properties and ease of installation. Usually seen at the end of the hose, adapters or ports are fitted with o-rings or retaining rings.

This seal ring is pressed between the shoulders and the female face of the male fitting to create a secure seal. The BSPP pressure gauge also features a longer male end and a pressure seal design using a copper washer that is pressed against the bottom of the male fitting and the bottom of the BSPP female borehole. The performance of BSPP threaded joints means that no thread sealant is required to make a good connection.
BSPT fittings and adapters
For tapered threads, the connection is usually closed with a metal-to-metal thread shim. However, the gaskets are designed with o-rings or a bond.
British Standard Pipe Tapered (BSPT) fittings and adapters are typically intended for mounting on machined parts where the “faces” of the part provide a smooth, flat, and precisely positioned surface during roughcasting. These fittings provide the best seal when assembled with lubricant or sealant to form a single seal.
Both types of BSP threads are available in hydraulic applications such as oil and gas to heavy machinery and equipment.
